Dog Pictures - Do They Look Like Their Owner?

Picture a Dog, Picture a Dog owner. Why do they look alike?

I close my eyes and picture my friend Marc’s dog; he’s a yellow lab with dirty blonde hair. Marc also has dirty blonde hair. I picture Marc's dog and he's a lab so he’s athletic, Marc is athletic. I watch them walk together and they even walk the same.

My friend Danny has a black pit bull. Danny is Cuban and in very good shape. He’s not a monster buff dude, just a small ripped guy, about 5’10” 175lbs. Danny is a stunt man and has always been a little on the unique side (I say unique, others say crazy). Pit bulls are often classified as being on the “unique” side.  The definitely compliment each other's personality.  I can't picture the dog without the owner.

My friend Michelle, very pretty, young and thin, new-to-LA actress type.   She has a Maltese that has brown hair and brown eyes ... and so does Michelle.  The dog is tentative when around strangers and yes, you guessed it, so is Michelle.  They both take very little steps when they walk and watching them together is just like watching Danny with his dog and Marc with his.

All three dog and dog owners look alike and act alike. Why is that?   Are these people attracted to themselves? They can’t get enough of themselves so they have to get a dog that looks like them? I doubt it, but it wouldn’t shock me living in LA.  It’s got to be hidden more in the subconscious then that.  Or do I just know them so well that every time I picture them with their dog they mesh into one another?  It’s a lot easier to explain why they act alike. I mean, if you do your research you’ll probably get a dog that has a personality that matches yours.

Picture your dog and and what are the thousand words that the dog picture says.  If you’re a tough guy who is adventurous you’ll get a dog that matches that personality. If you’re a feminine sort you’ll get one to match. And maybe you look through pictures of dogs and there is attraction to a certain dog because he does look like you, Could be? I thought it was just my friends and their Dogs but my girlfriend and I started noticing pictures of Dogs and their owners in magazines and newspapers and books and suddenly every Dog started to look like their owner.  It started to blow our mind, so much that we switched from looking at pictures of Dogs and moved on to driving around and watching Dogs and their owners in the real world.   Every dog we would see looked like his or her owner.   Does this happen with cats?  Birds?  Lizards?  I mean I have friends that look more like their Dog then they do their parents.  My friend Tiffany has a Pug and she’s way to cute for me to say she looks like a Pug but you known what, she kind of does.  Have black short hair, Tiff is 4’11” and sure, she doesn’t have a pushed in face but she doesn’t have a pushed out face either. They are both very feisty and have a lot of energy. The other day I was at her house for a BBQ and Walter (pug) jumped up on a table and started eating food right off of my plate. Tiff got mad and picked him up off the table and set him down. All I could think about was how Tiff and I went out to dinner the previous week and as I approached the table on my way back from the bathroom what do I see, Tiff standing up reaching across the table picking food off of my plate, just like her dog Walter. Two peas in a pod.  Shut your eyes and picture your friends dogs and think about how eerily similar they look like one another and how much they act like one another. It makes sense, It’s awesome!

Send us dog pictures of anyone you know that looks like his or her dog. We'd love to post the picture of that dog and their owner on The Doggie Dish.
